Dell entered the personal digital assistant (PDA) market in 2002 with the debut of the Axim X5. The base-level Axim X5 boasted a 300 MHz Intel XScale PXA250 Processor, 32MB RAM, 32MB flash ROM, a Type II CompactFlash Slot, an SD/MMC Slot, a 16-Bit QVGA (240 × 320 dots) TFT display, speaker, microphone, and a base price of $279 USD. A high-end Axim X5 came with a 400 MHz Intel XScale Processor, 64MB RAM, and 48MB flash ROM for $349 USD. Early models shipped with Pocket PC 2002, but an upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003 was offered and came preinstalled on some refurbished units. Despite rumours and speculations, further versions of Windows Mobile are unsupported. However, efforts have been made to port Linux to the system. Although the Axim X5 was regarded as an affordable Windows Mobile Device at the time it was released, affordability came with a size penalty: The weight was 195 g (6.9 ounces) and size was 127 x 81 x 18 mm (5 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches). The Axim X5 came with a rechargeable battery that would last for about 8 hours.
The Axim X5 is equipped with Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 Premium and pre-installed with familiar applications like Pocket Word and Pocket Excel, along with a calendar, contacts database, voice recorder, and a number of other built-in features.
With an integrated Type II CompactFlash card slot and a Secure Digital/MultiMediaCard slot, the expansion capabilities seem endless. And with its removable, rechargeable battery, the Axim X5 is never tied to its cradle--simply leave a spare battery charging in the cradle, and swap your battery when it's low.
The Dell Axim X5 features a backlit, 3.5-inch, 16-bit, touch-sensitive, transflective TFT color LCD display capable of displaying 65,536 colors at 240 x 320 resolution.
The Axim X5's audio capabilities include 16-bit stereo, full duplex record and playback, and an integrated microphone and speaker. The Axim also features a headphone jack.
The Axim X5 comes with a rechargeable, removable 1440 mAh lithium-ion battery. A rechargeable, removable 3400 mAh lithium-ion battery is optional.

I am a one man operation in central NJ and have been a part time reseller, collector, and pack rat for almost 10 years. I usually find my items at local thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, etc. In the past I used the eBay auction service exclusively but due to their increasingly restrictive policies and lack of protection for sellers I have moved on to other venues. Total feedback on eBay is around 7000 sales with approx. 99.8% positives- seller ID's are available on request. One of my ebay seller ID's is "stereos"- check it out and feel free to contact me through eBay to verify.
The safest way to pay me is with a check with "for deposit only" written on the back, money orders are also OK. In most cases I wait until a check has cleared before shipping. I don't use PayPal because of the chance of fraud and the fees.
International bidders are welcome but make sure you know how you are going to send payment- since I don't use PayPal or credit cards it may be inconvenient. In Canada, Japan, and Australia you can purchase a US Dollar Postal Money order for payment. Any verifiable check or money order that is drawn on a US bank will also be OK.
